What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

Hello guys

Without knowing I became part of this wonderful program, I lived in Venezuela all my life and never had the opportunity to look for the direction or seeing what people says about some places, but once I came to Chile 3 years ago I started using Google maps, at the begining just to find places but then I saw that people can post their photos and leave comments and that got me!

I started taking photos of the places, of the food and I loved to comment my wonderful experience in this places.

Then I found that can be a place where you can advice people what to do if you go there or what you’ll need if you go there.

One day I noticed that leaving comments I was helping people, or even making a little of justice, for example one day I went to a place and they weren’t kind with some people and even with me because I wanted to buy some pizza and eat it at home, and some people asked for the pizza to eat it at home then they decided to eat it there and the people of the restaurant were rude with them and I felt so bad, I only could leave a comment about how it was my experience there on google maps and I felt so well.

so what it means to me?

It’s where I can be a guide without being famous or an influencer, where I can share my experience to help people advicing about dangerous places or what to do, or even helping the owners of some places so they can see that what they do have an impact, and they need to upgrade and change for good.

I feel so good and proud of being a local guide because I can be myself and I can be always a tourist and a guide that can help people and helping google because google has been always there for me in my whole career helping me finding what I need to study to be a good scientist so it’s a way to give a little of what google has gave to me.

Thanks for reading guys!

Hope you’re fine and safe at home!

Greetings
