Its been a year to use Local Guide Program for productive purposes while living in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It feels so good when you become a source of information for an unknown person who could be a tourist visiting your country or city for the first time, a group of friends thinking to share awesome moments while dining out, a patient looking for an hospital, a traveler looking to commute or a family to visit park and other public places.
Doing this volunteer work, it provides an opportunity to give some good thing back to community. It provides satisfaction helping other find their way and place.
Being an auditor by profession, it provides me multiple opportunities to roam within and outside the city, where I can have different experiences to share on maps in the shape on photos, videos, comments and reviews.
It takes a little extra efforts to take pictures and record videos of visited placed but the impact on google maps is huge when people search the desired place and get unbiased experiences of local guides.
We must carry on this work to build our community more productive, helping and informative.
