The local guides program was first brought to my attention when i noticed that a certain street name on maps was incorrect. I made my first suggestion and more and more questions kept popping up, asking me to verify phone numbers for businesses and ensuring places were correctly advertised. From these, I got drawn in and realised what google maps truly is, a community of explorers helping each other build the most interactive navigation tool in history. It became more than an app, it is a global experiment in which anyone can be a part of, and out of every small contribution, someone can be helped from being lost, wasting time, helped plan the perfect vacation or avoid common mistakes of the area.
