What does the local guides program mean to me?

Hey everyone… Very good afternoon…!

Greetings…!

Namastey…!

I’m Shruti Upadhyay a level 7 local guide from Rudrapur Uttarakhand India.

I started contributing on Google maps in 2016… first place I reviewed was my father’s school… I was unaware about local guides… My father told me that if you review some places and suggest edits about places Google will make you local guide… And will give badges… I thought, “woooooooooow it’s amazing. Google will make me local guide… that’s great…” then I started contributing on Google maps … After few days, I got a notification from Google, “you know this place? Add these related photos to this place.” I added those photos and earned some points… After some days I recieved a mail from Google - “Shruti Upadhyay, your photos are being popular…” it was so amazing that I got mail from Google like this… I continued contributing… and it was interesting for me…

In 2018 I started using Instagram, and follows local guides pages. Seen lots of Google local guides event, and really was qurious and excited to know how to get in touch with these people… I really wanted to meet them and join them… But I was unaware of everything… I started tagging #letsguide on my posts… Added Level 6 Google local Guide From India . To my Instagram bio… I started following #tags of Google local guides, local guides world… Fortunately I liked a post of My fellow local guide @IshantHP_ig

And then I met him and more Local Guides @veeryoga @shivpandey and other local guides … attended first meet-up in Har ki Pauri Haridwar Hosted by Ishant And Shiv g…

After that I am connected with these LGs my best frnds…

I attended a Green tree plantation meet-up in Delhi also Hosted by @AmbrishVarshney Sir…

After my first meetup with Ishant And veeryoga g, I got passionate about Google map contributions… After this I attended more meet-ups in Rishikesh and Haridwar with Ishant and veeryoga g…

And sometimes when I recieve mails from Google, it feels like I’m an Avenger, helping people…

Journey is still continue…

I met a mentor, a great leader… Who’s Positive energy fills you with awesome energy… Thank you so much sir @TravellerG For guiding us…

I’m still enjoying contributing on Google maps… Met with new people…
