What does the Local Guides program mean to me: the main thing is in the details, because these are my emotions!
On March 3, I received an invitation to apply for Connect Live 2020, and for the first time I thought about why I participate in the Local Experts program, what it gives me and what I want to achieve with my actions.
I will try to answer these questions.
To the first question - why am I writing reviews and posting photos about places I have visited? I do not often photograph, but almost always photograph, those places in which I really liked something or really did not like it. My photos are actually a fixation of my emotions about the places in which I was. It turns out posting my photos on Google Maps, I share my emotions.
What does this give me? Besides the fact that I have the opportunity to share my emotions about places visited on Google Maps, I can describe what I liked or did not like. That is, I can describe the details, those little things that make the mood and emotions. The most commonplace, I can point out that the toilet at the gas station is clean and that there is toilet paper, that I was served very respectfully and quickly. For me, the nuances and details of the places that surround me and which I visit are very important. This is one of my needs to feel and enjoy the place where I am “here and now.” Another important point: I get the opportunity to open new places on maps, our marketing in small business is not very developed in Russia, and it turns out that not all cafes and clubs enter data on Google Maps. I go as a discoverer and write about these places.
What do I want to achieve with my actions? Filling Google Maps with my emotions and details, I want to make the world around me better! I want to tell all Google Maps users who follow me to the places I visited how much this place is nice and wonderful, or that this place was not very neat at the time of my visit and there was terrible service. I hope that people who own cafes, hotels and other places that I visit will thank me for the feedback, even if it is negative and low rated, because they have the opportunity to look at their business through the eyes of an outside and independent observer and make your business better by delivering more positive and vivid emotions to your customers. #localguidesconnect
