What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

Hi all,

My name is Ashish and I am a Google local guide. For me local guide program means to share true experiences while striving to make a positive impact on the society.

Right since I have been a part of the program, I have tried to share my experiences and wrote honest reviews to give the best information possible to our community around.

For example, during a recent trip I went to Brussels, Belgium. They are well known for their waffles. While travelling there, I explored many waffle stores and ate at many places. But there is one place ‘Maison Dandoy’ which is one of the oldest waffle places, makes one of the best waffles (as explained by localites) and carries a part of history with it. By eating waffles in this place, ‘you also become a part of the history as the shop was opened just 1 year before Belgian independence in 1830’.

Though it was a subtle information and have nothing to do with waffles. But I felt it as is my duty to bring about small facts and figures to the community and share the true experience of having attended a place. In terms of result, I am glad that many people noticed it and found my pictures quite helpful.
