Since 2012, from when I started using the google maps, I came to know that with the help of it, I can travel to unknown place with proper route to route direction with accurate tracking. But somehow there was still a question was arising whenever I travel using google maps, which is, how the Google map knows the name of places, roads. This curiosity leads me to search more and more regarding this matter. Then I came to know that there is a program called “Local Guide”. I immediately enrolled for that and started exploring that. Day by day I’ve learned how to add photos to place. I’ve added many of them. Then I’ve learned to add a new place in google maps with the help of google. In 2014, when I was in Rajasthan, India for an official tour, I’ve used google maps mostly for new place addition. While traveling not a day goes by, when I am not using the google maps. After adding some places, the questions started to came and I kept answering them. It gave me great inspiration.
In Feb. 2020, I traveled to Bangladesh to meet some of my relatives, where in Teknaf highway, I met my brother-in-law, who owns a furniture shop. It was far away from Coxbazar. So I added his shop in the Google maps. After few days I rechecked the details and I found that more than 280 people searched and viewed his shop in google maps. later I added his phone number and mail ids to that post, so that customer can contact him in need. By seeing that my brother in law thanked and appreciated me and asked me to show him the process also so that he can used it for the betterment of his business. That gave me much satisfaction and inspiration to continue my contribution to Google maps
