What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

The answer is simple. It is a perfect platform to help others to have a second view of the world around us, based on useful information. It is the perfect example of an immersive and frictionless technology which makes possible to share specific, individual knowledge, with millions of people, located everywhere.

For many years I have published articles in travel magazines or participated in a radio travel program (largest audience in Spain, with 900.000 people), but the relevance of those media pales compared with Google Maps. My pictures are viewed 1M times a week and my reviews 25.000 times. By real people, by people who are gathering information to make decisions. I never felt that my travel and recommendations were as useful as I have as Google Local Guide.

For me, the Local Guides programs mean also freedom. Nobody tells me about what I have to write and my opinions are totally independent, as there is no commercial involvement. It is just for the shake to help others to improve their experiences. And it makes me feel great! :slightly_smiling_face:
