Back in 2014, I missed my way to a very important interview, and eventually missed the interview. This was a low moment of my life and getting the job would have changed my fortunes and made things better for me and my family. However, I missed out because the area I was going to was not captured in Google maps.
After reaching out to the company and they declined to reschedule, I swore that no one else deserves to go through the same experience I did. I started making a conscious effort to find and update missing information about places I’ve visited, to ensure that I reduce the number of bad experiences people have with accessibility, one update at a time.
I’ve found that contributions from others have improved my overall outdoor experiences, and I hope that my numerous contributions on Google maps have made other people’s lives and outdoor experiences richer and better.
