Hi everyone,
My name is Christine and I come from a city in the suburbs of Montreal (Canada) called Vaudreuil-Dorion.
When I received the invitation to try to be part of Connect Live 2020 in San Francisco, I couldn’t believe it! It would be a great privilege for me to attend the Connect Live this year and I am so grateful to be able to submit my application for this event. The Local Guides program is very important to me because it allows me to do what I love most in the world: helping people. I work as a social worker and when I leave work I always look for ways to do more to help others around me. I think everyone can do their part to make the world a better place, and the Local Guides program is a good place to start. It supports the local economy and helps many people around the world to get the relevant information they need for different places. Being a travelbug myself, I am so happy when other Local Guides put their opinions on the various restaurants and hotels in the region that I want to visit. It helps tremendously to plan any trips. When I contribute to Google maps, I tell myself that this is the least I can do in return for people who visit my part of the world.
The Local Guides program therefore goes along with my values and this is perhaps the main reason why I love being a Local Guide so much.
