For me, there are a few crucial things that the Local Guides program offers.
For travellers
Imagine you have to move or travel for work to an unknown city or even country. You either have limited time or budget or both and want to have a taste of the local foods or use services that won’t rip you off. And here is where Local Guides shine.
I personally give reviews only on places I know really well, and the review I’m offering is a reflection of the overall quality, not just one visit. Which I think is what people are looking for when going through the recommendations.
This is my opinion, gives an incredible value to travellers or people that needed to move for some reason.
Local people
The second most significant advantage is for local people. It’s not only about food or let’s say laundromat places we need. I recently needed a good mechanic when my car needed some maintenance, and I believe that the reviews I found posted by Local Guides made me not only saved me money but also time.
On the other side, if a business is fair and gives quality service, it will be recognized, so it enriches both parties and makes everyone’s life a little bit better.
These two reasons are why I highly value Local Guides and will continue to contribute as much as I can.
