To me, Local Guides program is like volunteering to improve the effectiveness of the Google Map and also help others know places. The program involves activating your location on phone so that it records every place you go. Google will ask you to provide a review of the place. In case you took a photo in that specific place, you can add it to help others identify the place. The program ensures that users are provided with real time feedback that are based on personal experiences about places such as entertainment areas and business enterprises. The Local Guides Program also allows the Google Map users to explore new areas, knowing the benefits and demerits attached to a place based on real-time reviews. I also view Local Guides Program as an opportunity to travel around the world through the support of Google, for instance, some people will get opportunity to visit the Bay Area all thanks to the program. When we review places, we earn points which increase our opportunity to receive tokens from the Google.
