What does the Local Guides Program Mean to Me: Share my trips, Guide persons

Share my trips, Guide persons!

It has been about one year for me I started to share comments and pictures as a local guide and it is so much funny for me to share information about places I have visited.

I am from Dimbokro, in the center part of Côte d’Ivoire. Around the town, the entire region is made of rural communities. Many people don’t use maps here and there were many places missing in the Maps. I started adding them, reviewing them, adding photos to places and commenting existing places.

Sometimes, I have trips to other parts of the country or other countries. During my visits, I really enjoy leaving my comments as a foreign eye on the monuments sites.

I came to know about the local guides program while I was using the Google Maps application by clicking accidentally on the Contribute button. I like the incentive systems and the possibility to quickly upgrade my level by sharing more and more pictures and reviews.

Whenever I visit a place, the first thing coming to my mind is that I am a Google Local Guide and I should return from that place with some information that I could add to Google Maps so that it could help others.

I really feel happy when someone marked my review as a helpful review or when the views of my pictures increase to 3,000,000 views!

The monthly emails about the contributions I made in that month also enjoyed me, like the photos that crossed 1000 views, or 10000 views… It really gives me a satisfaction and pushes me to contribute more on the coming month.

Google Local Guide Program is something I can use to help others discover more about my town and about places which I visited. I am happy and proud being a local guide level 8.

Greetings and full respect from Cote d’Ivoire,
