What does the Local Guides program mean to me: My personal growth of writing and social interaction
Hello everyone, I’m Stan Wang, a level 6 local guide living in central Taiwan, as an outgoing person, I love to travel around and explore different local restaurants. In the past, I can only use photographs I take to remind me where I have been, and can only share photos and information of spot or restaurant to my friends and family on social network, but since I started local guide program, I find out to write comments and post photos on google map can help me record the place I have gone and the feeling I had at those moment, and since the comment will be seen by the world, I focus more on the content of my comment and try to let other know better. Through this program, I get a great sense of accomplishment by watching local guide level and the views of my photos and comments grows, it truly stimulates me to contribute more.
And now, no matter on working day or holiday, I will try to have meal at where else I haven’t been, which leads me toward many wonderful but not too famous local restaurant, and as a local guide now, I become more willing to talk with the owner or staff of the restaurant or spot, in order to get more information from them to write on my comment, meantime, I also associate with one of the local business’s owner, and even become friends on social network, he will inform me to visit his restaurant if there’s some new food style he make, this is the experience I never had before.
In the past, I can get joy only from travel and dining experience, but now, besides those joys, I have more to enjoy by the feedback of other users and growth of views, and also, local guide program indeed encourages me to explore more place, to have more social connection with others, and also motivate me to practice how to describe things and feeling through precise words for reader to better understand my comment.
I feel perfect to have the chance to involve in this program, for giving me a sense of accomplishment and personal growth at the same time.
