What does the Local Guides program mean to me? My descovery during my trip to the Auroras Borealis

Some people, like myself, have dreamed of someday viewing the Auroras Borealis in person.

When you start to plan such a trip you yo begin to ask:

Where is the best place? Which is the best time? What are the costs? What kind of clothing do I need?

What equipment do I need for picture taking?

Alright, well all of these questions can be answered in a google review and are able to help any future Aurora hunters.

This past January 2020 I went to the Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada to make my dream come true and witness the Auroras in person.

During my stay, I noticed the diversity of cultures of tourists. I met a couple from Colombia that spoke very little English. In fact, I myself am Mexican and speak fluent Spanish. I moved to Los Angeles three years ago and I am becoming bilingual in English. It became easy for me to help this couple during our tour, which made me happy.

This couple is one of the reasons that the Local Guides program means so much to me. I understand that there are language barriers and as a Local Guide I am able to break those barriers and help people around the world that speak Spanish. My reviews are all in Spanish to aid the Spanish speaking community, such as this couple I met during my trip.

Enjoy the pictures.
