What does the local guides program mean to me? : locating destination, getting directions, friendly competition and ultimately having fun helping others.
The local guides program started for me as a prompt, after helping me locate destinations, getting directions, friendly competition and ultimately help me to help others while having fun.
when I got my new Inifinix phone 7months ago, somehow the local guides program caught my attention properly this time with a prompt, and I started allowing my location switched on almost permanently. The map already ease locating new places or giving me directions, then the fun part was it prompted me also to give reviews to visited places in order to help others searching for the place or wanting to pass through the same route. Gradually I discovered there are tons of local guides as well and there was a progress count by level, which opened my eye to the friendly competition on board, I just did my fun thing with the map and now am currently a level 5 local guide, (almost on level 6 though). It is really exciting to have “fun helping people” at the same time competing.
Receiving my first local guide peck was an awesome experience, I would never forget how I showcased pictures of the package received which made me so proud of been a local guide (have never been so proud of myself), you would say its just a socks but it was a cherished laurel as an award to my list of little achievement that count, it also made me feel my contributions were recognized among the thousands of awesome local guides in Lagos (talk more of Nigeria at large) that are top local guides and doing better. Then I knew at that moment that I’ve been given a super-power to help people while having my own fun exploring places or going to work.
I might not have met a lot of local guides in physical but, I remember helping some of my colleagues at work on board, which means I work with some (Lol). I love meeting people, creating network, sharing ideologies and hopefully working together creating something new.
