The local guide program is my favorite platform to express myself freely. Since the very first day I heard about the program I started sharing with the community all good and bad experience that I had while visiting restaurants or traveling.
When my sister told about the program we were at restaurant celebrating a friend’s birthday and we’re having a really bad time there because of the restaurant’s poor service, I was upset and annoyed with the situation even the birthday boy was frustrated but at that moment I didn’t feel confident enough to talk with a manager or a supervisor and express my feelings about it but with my sister was different I told her all thing I thought about that a place and that was the exact moment when she said “Did you know that google has a local guide program where you can give review about places that you have visited?” my answer was “no, but let me check” and… ladies and gentlemen’s that was the beginning of the journey of my life; I found on Local Guides program a safe spot where I can share my happiness when I try delicious food, when I visit places that allows me to have great moments with friends, when I fall in love with a new city and also allows me to respectfully share those bad experiences that I wouldn’t like to have again but were necessary for me to learn and help others avoid it or get prepared to face them; it feels awesome when I received an email with the numbers of people that my reviews have helped or when I can answer their question, it is excited how a shy me can communicate her experience globally!! The Local Guide program have helped me a lot while I’ve been working on my confident when it comes to express my feelings because as I said before it feels like a safe spot and it has given to me the same comfortable feeling that I have when I got home after have visited a new country or try a new restaurant and talk with my sister about it.
Now whenever I decide to try new places the first step is check the reviews on Google Local Guide then live, eat, share and repeat!
