What does the Local Guides program mean to me: It's all about sharing

I don’t really remember the exact date when I joined the Local Guides program by Google, but at first it was just for fun. I’m sure most of us, Local guides, started that way. It was really great to just share pictures and comments about the places that I visited, things that I saw, events that I attended. My friends, colleagues and close relatives not always are able to see those places personally, and I gave them the possibility to see and almost feel the energy of the place, like they’ve been there themselves! As I received appreciation for those my posts on Google maps not only from the people that I knew, but even from total strangers I understand how serious it is!

People all around the Globe have access to the information that I shared and I realised how important it can be for them and for me to let people discover something new. I mean, to see new places, get an information about it, get new impressions and almost feel new experiences! How many people don’t have the possibility to travel, but we, Local Guides help them to do so! I believe every Local guide feels the same way as I do.

Let’s keep up doing our job!

Hello @crueldrummer ,

Thanks for sharing!

Since your post looks like an application post for Connect Live 2020, I’d like to let you know that I’ve relabelled your post to Local Stories, as all application posts should be under the Local Stories topic label.

If you need some tips on how to create it, please check out the How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 and Connect Live applications are now open posts.

Thanks @AngieYC ! That was indeed an application post.
