Yesterday, I hung out with my friends at a restaurant. When we just finished the wonderful pasta, she saw me taking a picture of the whole restaurant and writing down my comments. She looked confused and asked me the reason. I responded: ’ I Just want to remember this moment and share it with the world.’ With Google maps, now I am connected to this world.
“Google Maps is one of the best applications I have ever used. Functions, such as ‘Your contributions’ and ‘Your timeline’, are so helpful and interesting, especially when I want to recall those wonderful memories. It is undoubtedly amazing.”
Tap on Google Maps and search for the place to go become my daily routine. Featured with the Location-Based Service (LBS), Google Maps provides me with lots of possible locations that I might be interested in. Better yet, sufficient information, such as pictures, opening hours and the related comments about the location is included, saving the extra time to search for additional information. Therefore, I am able to decide the most preferable location effectively as well as efficiently, and also arrive there without any worries with the professional guidance of Google Maps. . . Obviously, Google Maps has already been a part of my daily life. Nevertheless, it never occurs to me that how and where that additional information on Google maps are generated.

Several months ago, I found a post from a local guide. As a Google Local Guide, she shared her experiences about her job, including writing comments, sharing information and uploading pictures that she took from a variety of places all over the world. Through uploading the data that she has collected to Google Maps, she has assisted a lot of people who are annoyed by the lack of information about places. Thus, from that day on, I have been determined to take part in the Google Local Guide Community.
“This picture is the most popular one that I have ever shared. Additionally, it is also meaningful to me, as one of my earliest pictures I have posted. It is the Research Center’s prospective R&D Center Building, located in Hsinchu, Taiwan.”
I started to post my comments and shared my pictures on Google maps. Among those pictures that I have posted, the most popular one is the Research Center’s prospective R&D Center Building of my University, reaching more than 20,000 views! I used to share my experience privately, helping my family and friends to choose good restaurants, nice parks to relax, or comfortable libraries to enjoy reading books. Nevertheless, thanks to the Google Local Guide Community, now I can share all these things with the whole world! I am still learning how to take better photos. With my effort and time, I hope the information that I have offered will help more and more people to understand the places they are looking for.
