My birthday cake photo made me popular with over 5000 views.
The local guide program I must say was something I stumbled into. Everyone who knows me know how I love taking pictures. I have always been the paparazzi of the party (event). As a hobby which brings so much joy to me I began posting the pictures I took on Google to tell others where I’ve been as friends and family kept asking for recommendations for places of interest.
The local guide program came in handy and it meant that not only did I get the opportunity to share to the people around me but the world at large. When I got notice that a photo i posted had received 5000+ views, I was besides myself with joy. This also meant that the local guide program has made me a world celebrity. I was helping others make a choice on something and influencing my society positively at the same time. Having over 18000 views of my photos meant I was making an impact and placing my country on a pedestal.
One of the things I enjoy doing with the local guide program is answering questions on the places I’ve been. My reviews received a lot of good responses from owners of places I’ve been to. Most of them were grateful that i was assisting their business to be seen out there, allowing people to get to know them and positively increasing sales. The local guide programme means so much to me because not only did it make my hobby fun but it even made me go a step further into posting videos on YouTube. I would say it was a motivator.
As someone who works in travel and tourism, the local guide programme gives me hope that even without our trained tour guides on a trip, tourists will with the aid of maps get to their destinations safely and also have a better mind view of where they’re heading even before they get to the destination. Looking for good food and restaurants has been easier with maps. Infact because of my recommendations and reviews some friends always call me to help them make a decision on where to go especially when it has to do with choosing a good restaurant to eat.
In conclusion I would say the Local guides program in a nutshell for me means- influencing society, helping others, impacting business growth and most importantly having fun doing my hobby of photography.
