What does the Local Guides program mean to me? “Helping people with hidden needs.”

As it was mentioned in my Local Guide introduction video, I am a level 5 Local guide with more than 15 thousands CTR. However, my highest CTR posts are quite unusual comparing from others’ postings. These postings were related to the elderly residence, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association and Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

Elderly’s residence :house_with_garden:

I used to work as the Government officer with Taipei City hall mainly managing the elderly affairs. I like to promote the heartwarming moments and focus on sharing the friendly environment, professional medical staff and helpful social workers here who had showed their care for needy. I would also like to share the successful implementation of Inter-generation Co-Housing Policy in Taipei. This policy provides the chance to the university students to stay with the elderly under the same neighborhood at a fair rental. Elderly should not be isolated from the society.

Instead they are surrounded with young adults be there to help them in times in daily life. They too make a good companionship for each other as well. They can share life experiences of different views and inject positive vibes on each other’s lives. I had also shared a picture about the color eggs story. The story is about a grandma making a deal with a young lady. Grandma will teach the young lady the skill of coloring eggs and in exchange the young lady will help grandma with her novel book layout.

Being a team member of this project, I am more than willing to share this with all the Netizens. Everyone gets to live their lives once, and I do not want to live mine like any others. I hope my comment would provide the opportunity to help students and elderly citizens who are seeking to start a new life and to try out this new co-housing experience but lack of courage and understanding. Through the local guide message on google map, I hope it would clear their doubts and leads them to the right decision.

This is a common place for the officer-in-charge and PR related members to have meetings in this center. However, it is tough at time to find this center as it is located among multiple buildings with difficult accessibility. I had check-into this office and was really impressed with the exquisitely decorated meeting room which urged me to leave my comment on the Local Guide stories. I commented that this center is beautifully decorated with authentic Japanese elements and culture infused into it. However, please watch out your steps as you walk down the stair as it was really steep. Do grab the jacket with you as the air-conditioner here is really strong! I hope this will cautious the people on their visitation even when they are rushing for the meetings. Safety is important!

I visited this center for meeting purpose when it was just opened. My comment for this place was that it is located in a brand new multiple-purpose function building which are open for the public. It was really hard for people to associate this building to the name of Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. This is a good example on how my comment would help by sharing the details of the place on the google map. Firstly, most people would had a difficult time associating this multiple function building with the center and probably would turn them off by this. Secondly, image the victim who maybe struggling on seeking help at this place would likely be filled with uncertainties and helpless, my comments on the accessibility and precise location would help to ease their anxiety. I became more motivated to share my point of view when I realized it actually help many people with hidden needs.
