I started this journey in 2016 i.e adding new info, reviews facts to maps. And I have reached a long way from the time when, I was not adding that many places or doing proper reviews, be it adding, editing, new info of the places on maps.
I somehow make some time from my schedule and add new info to the maps regularly, be it hourly or daily. If I get some time, I make sure I am on maps and do some edits, which may help commuters find a new shortcut or a hungry guy find the best Biriyani town, find new business or help someone get the correct phone number or the website or their working hours, helping people make better choices of the places on maps. In a way helps them. and I think, i have done my bit, when I receive monthly updates from you guys about the view my photos garnered or the view on my reviews is generating, motivates me to do a bit more.
I try to go to new places and make sure I have all the info about that place before hand. And take proper photos be it of any new info about that place or any new photo from there.and write proper reviews from there. I don’t add not only the photos or videos, I make uniformed decision about the places I visit, reviews which should be written as being a guide, which would help others when going out to eat or buying somethings.
Adding review of places I visit people to make informed decisions, and in turn makes me happy, when I see that my reviews are getting views or my photos are seen my all the people, who get the info from my edits to the maps.
Everyone has story to tell, how the maps helps them. below story is mine. I hope it’s not boring.
I have a personal thing to share, it happened in 2019 towards the ens, when i had quit from my start-up. joined my new company, I had to open a Salaried account, and my new company couldn’t help me as I was in Hyderabad, Telangana and the company was from Bengaluru, Karnataka.
When I Visited the said bank branch, many of their branches near to me, for some reason, they were not ready to open my account, in spite of showing all the required documents. I went home dejected, then I wrote the review of the said bank’s branch and the bank manager called me to ask about the details and helped me in opening of my bank account, and I thought, he will ask me to edit the review, but he didn’t. At that time I thought more than anything a software that too a navigation tool, had helped me in opening an account.
After 4 years of me being local guides and level 9 , and having most of the badges that the maps offers to it’s local guides, and I had the opportunity to attend the local guides connect meet in Hyderabad 2019. which was a wonderful event and an important event which, I have attended, where the Google showed, how it shows it’s appreciation for the work we put on the maps. Where we got to meet many of the other local guides and how the maps helps and how they do it in their own way. and my photo which I had clicked when i had visited, Bidar Fort, Karnataka, selected as one of the top 10 photos from local guides in Hyderabad, my happiness new no bounds.
These gestures keeps me motivated to to do more in maps. and be helpful to all the people who use it.

Seeing me on maps, my friends, My sister too has started to help the maps in their own way. They sometimes comeback to me asking for tips on some of the things while editing maps. I help them out, how much I can.
