Hello everyone! I’m Chiara from Italy, and I’m a level 6 local guide!
I discovered the local guide program in 2017, and since then, i can’t help myself.
I started to participate as a game, as a pastime. But from the first moments I understood the great potential that this program can offer.
The local guide program allows people, located in all corners of the world, passionate about travel and explorers like me, to be able to help each other and to compare themselves, without asking for anything in return.
Google maps is a virtual local guide, a REFERENCE POINT, thanks to the community that openly and truthfully, without taking advantage, shares its experiences.
Besides being useful, the program is fun, and that’s what makes the difference!
If you stop thinking, you can realize the work that Google has done and the impact it has on our lives every day.
It’s part of us and of our daily lives.
Thanks to this program, although I’m at home, sitting on the sofa, I can visit unknown places, places and countries, I can visit big cities or small villages.
I can visit museums, attractions, or I can enjoy seeing a plate of pizza prepared on the opposite side of the world. Or even I can draw up a list of things to see or activities to do during my next trip.
I can know if there are interesting activities in the place I’m going to visit that I didn’t know about.
I can know in real time if a place is open, the opening hours, if it’s closed, or if it has been closed permanently. I can know in real time the turnout and what are the peak times.
Thanks to my “colleagues” and the photos they publish, I can immerse myself in the place, as if I were there, and I can choose what to visit, based on their reviews and their experiences.
The local guide program gives voice to those who, for others, decide to share their experiences, or decide to share and make known places in their country, which are difficult to find.
It’s nice to help each other and to know that it was useful to even one person.
Who better knows a place than those who live there?
Thanks to this program I was able to make known places in my city that were little known, I could add places that were missing, I could share my travel experiences and the best places I have been.
Thanks to the local guide program I was able to express my passion for photography, sharing my photos and my art with the community. I was able to feel gratified for helping other people.
Since I’m a vegetarian, it’s often difficult to find places that have a menu suited to my needs, but thanks to the local guide program, I can know in advance if a place will be fine, to know if the kitchen or the service or the bill are good.
We can realize what surrounds us, what we could visit once we have gone to our favorite place. We can have experiences that we didn’t think existed. The best part is that we are now like a large extended family, where everyone does their part, and you can always count on.
Millions of people rely on content shared by the community, on content shared by me, and even if for some it is only “a review”, for others it can make a difference.
