The local guides program allows me to create value to other people whom I have never met yet able to connect thanks to Google and its local guide program.
To me, local guides program is one effective ways to create value and to share with others. After experiencing food, service, places by myself, I could immediately comment and share pictures of them, knowing that there will be many others who will read and make decisions based on what I shared and said. Many visitors even locals are new to places and have not explored places surrounding them. When I share new places with them, this helps people to choose and decide if the place or restaurant is worth going. Another important part is that because of Google’s neutral’s position, the comments shared could be unbiased.
It also save all the hassles in looking for guides and travel advice. The Local Guides program gathers and concentrates everyone into one big group - Google and when people look for restaurants, shops and attractions they simply go to Google map and the Local Guides program is automatically there. It saves up people’s time in searching for one particular website and app for restaurants, food, attractions recommendations. Wherever you go in most parts of the world you can just click the map open and you get trustworthy recommendation from the local or expats familiar with the place.
The recognition of Local Guide is also meaningful in two ways. First, it builds a community that is dedicated to sharing the goodness and high value events, food, and places with others. The grading and virtual rewards local guides receive recognise and motivate us to keep creating valuable content to increase the strength of the community. Second, it is unbiased because the Local Guides are all volunteered and they do not receive any benefits, except Google’s virtual reward and recognition for their contribution.
Sharing is happiness and when sharing our experience and feelings can benefit the others, why not?
