What does the Local Guides program mean to me: friendship, learning and exploring more.

The Local Guides program has had a significant impact on my life since I got involved. To me, being a Local Guide means friendship, learning and exploring more.

Through my involvement in the Local Guides program, I’ve visited so many places, seen so many things and learned a lot. I’ve never been a part of something so global before. I’ve learned a lot from other local guides. They have introduced me to their passions, favorite treats, and favorite places. Ultimately, this program helps a lot by uniting us to share our passion for exploring and trying new things.

Being a Local Guide allows me to help others. Specifically, I’ve been able to help small business owners by adding their locations on the map. This helps their customers to leave a review and it will help business owners to guide their decisions. I have also able to help the tourists to find where to go. It makes easier to find new places and deciding to visit.

One of my most helpful reviews is for Unique Bazar. I’ve also added it to the map. It’s been so helpful that their business started growing within a month. I think it may be because of the explanation I gave about the products people can get there. People started visiting their shops and gave positive reviews. The shop is different than it appears from the outside.

I also love the friendly competition I get from being a Local Guide. I always love to compare with other Local Guides. Getting more points is more fun. The monthly email gives exciting information about how many people I’ve helped. I feel happy when I see that peoples are getting help from my reviews and it is making a difference. I’d love to say that it has also improved my photography skills.

We already know that the Local Guides is a global community of explorers who write reviews, share photos, answer or ask questions, add or edit places, and check facts on Google Maps. As it is a Google product, millions of people rely on contributions of Local Guides to decide where to go and what to do. Especially, strangers who visit unknown places, by getting help from Google Maps.

When I visit any place even it is unknown to me, I depend on Google Maps. I feel confident that I have Google Maps.
