I was born in a closed society in late 1970-s in the USSR. Imagine - I have tried banana and Coca Cola for the first time when I was about 10 years old in Moscow - then capital of Soviet capitals. Don’t worry, we had Pepsi in Almaty (my home city). Now we all have quarantine which reminds me about those times. Hopefully we will be able to save open world without boundaries.
For me the Local Guides program is a story about staying non-indifferent, to discover, to open yourself through the prism of your personal attitude in a space where every opinion matters. It is going beyond your restrictions, fears to open up to people and the world around you. It is a striving for a better world which you can create on your own, together with other people who cares.
It is journey to find amazing places and share your personal experience with others. It is also opportunity and feedback to owners of businesses to improve and listen to personalities. It is a story of trusting others and relying on their opinion, and in contrast saving others’ time to find truly gems worth of your attention.
So it’s a story about empathy and sympathy for the sake of a better and free world around all of us.
