Every time I need to go any places, Google Maps would be my reliable guide. I often see reviews and photos from the local guides. I find it easier to decide visiting interesting place or restaurant when I already read those reviews.
So I said to my self, why not share mine. I happened to know Google Local Guide about three years ago, when I was going to promote my own business site. But then I found it interesting to share more photos and reviews of other places. I could share interesting places or good meals to other people, also promoting beautiful places of my country.
Whenever I visit a place or restaurant, I always think whether other people would need some information or photographs about the place. So I began to take pictures and make reviews of those places.
I enjoy when I attempt to make good photos of the meals or recreational spots which I was going to upload to Google Maps. Especially when those photos are from some newly opened local restaurants. I’m happy when my photos could help the restaurant to promote their menus. Like what happened to one of my friend’s small restaurant https://g.page/rendangTole . After I made review and upload some photos, some new customers began to notice the restaurant and come by to dine in.
Giving an honest review also matters to me as a Local Guide. Sometimes I criticized a hotel or restaurant in order to remind the owner to improve their service. The feed back are sometimes replied by the owner or manager of the places with good response.
I always excited to receive the monthly email which show about how many people I’ve helped by contributing on Google Maps. Life is only once. So it is important to make it worth by doing good things not only for ourselves but also for others. Being a part of Local Guide and contributing by sharing photos and reviews is a simple but meaningful way for me to show that I care about others.
