The only way to become a better human being is to be able to contribute to the society, what I’ve learnt or come across in life. Knowledge is always meant to be shared. And for me, essentially the Local Guides program was never about the perks or rewards. At around level 3, I found out through Google that my reviews are making quite an impact and that a lot of people have been finding them useful. This has motivated me to continue posting reviews and sharing my honest feedback on places that I’ve been to or products that I’ve used and even, experiences I’ve had. In some of my reviews, I even mention little details that first time users/visitors may miss out on, Easter eggs in real life, so as to speak. I love finding out more about new places that usually don’t have so much of an online footing. I feel like I’m shining a light on hidden gems around me. And this is one of the key factors that makes me want to be a Local Guide, forever. It is always good to know that I’ve been able to make another user’s experience better through mere words and sometimes, even photos or videos. I’ve enjoyed and continue to enjoy the experience more than I thought I ever would. Now, I would like to go down the road further and help my peers find and enjoy the best experiences our beautiful world has to offer.
