Being a local guide change my life and making this world a better one. Sharing stories, saving memories, posting words and photographs are powerful tools on the internet.
A random act, but influential feedback.
Before knowing Google’s Local guide, I just randomly post my travel picture on google maps. One magic thing happens is that I saw one girl who had been to Connect Live 2019 in the USA. Dreaming of getting more connections with brilliant guides from different countries, I started my journey as a 20-year-old Google guide. Another magical thing happens, once I posted my footsteps around the world, there are more and more people noticing my pictures in different tourist spots. That is amazing knowing that one young student on a small island can make a slight change in the world.
I enjoy the way that Local guides changing the world. For example, I post my photos when I been to Vancouver in 2019 summer. Many tourists are seeing my comments and pictures of Stanley Park, and Granville island decided to plan a trip there. I post one picture with any snow of Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama in 2020 winter, so that people can understand the serious effect of global warming. I also love the monthly email gives exciting information about how many people I’ve helped and how many people seeing my photos It gives me lots of achievement.
Local Guides program saves my footsteps in these days and also have a significant impact on my life. I found out my friend and I own numerous memories on the island – Taiwan.
