I`ve always been very serious and responsible about leaving reviews. From the time I got on social media. My first review platform was Foursquare. Then Yelp. And then I came to Local guides on Google maps.
Why Local Guides? Because I think it is the most convenient way of doing that. I search on maps, find places, checking reviews, then putting the route, and then I can review the place too on the same page, the same app.
Local guides program means a lot to me I feel like I’m helping other people making the choice for the best experience they could possibly have whether they are going out, traveling or choosing their next manicure spot. It makes life so much easier when you know which place definitely worth a try and which can ruin your night. It makes me happy to think that my review helped somebody to decide to go some place and they had a good time.
I always make sure to read what other local guides say and read their reviews thoroughly before going somewhere. The first thing I ask when my boyfriend is suggesting a new spot for dinner - “Do they have good reviews?”.
I never go the a place without reading reviews. And it helps me a lot too.
There were couple times I did not check it and I had the worst experience ever, that ruined my vacation. From that time I promised myself to always read reviews, and leave reviews (to save other people from bad experience too).
The thing is that this not only help us people communicate about the business around, but also make owners more responsible for the experience they are providing to the guest. Now they can’t do whatever they want, because if they get bad reviews people are gonna go to another place. And backwards. It helps small businesses a lot, or places that just opened. By providing good service and getting good reviews they definitely increase their traffic.
Just thinking that I help others, even in some small way, makes me feel good. That I make someone’s day better. Help people to live their best life. Make a difference. Help some small businesses to get discovered and find its audience. Share my thoughts and find that its useful for somebody out there. That makes me feel good.
