Initially while using the maps giving a place review, adding up some pictures and video of the place was just like to upload it for fun sake. But when i started exploring more, i felt that Maps it has got something more than one uses it for their purpose. The Local Guides- it gives you the oppurtunity to contribute something on which you could share your thinking about the places we visit. I have a sister who is down syndrome, she is a special child and she needs special care when we are out and sometime we may not know if the place is suitable for her or not. Seeing this i felt there are many people who may need special attentions and GOOGLE have asked the local guides for their contribution to the society by asking additional info which helps people get to know if the place would be fit for them to visit maybe a wheelchair accessible entrance or parking. Not only for the disabled, it would help anyone decide if the place suits them.
Further to add up to this i would mention that i am also a travel agent and being a local guide gives me opportunity to let my clients know about the places they are going to visit. Like i have a hugh client base who are strict vegetarian so this helps me create a list for them to look for pure vegetarian restaurants.
I would lastly like to appreciate the Local Guides Community for their immense contribution to let others decide whats best for them.
