What I like most about being a Local Guide is being able to help other people to make the best possible decisions. Also, a very important part is being able to help small local businesses have more visibility and that they can be found more easily.
Help them to know the best dishes of a restaurant so that their choice is the best possible. Know that thanks to my reviews or photos someone can virtually see a place and be encouraged to see it in person as we show them with the unique perspective that our local knowledge gives us. This is the engine that drives me to continue contributing every day and gives meaning to the task. Helping people you will never meet enjoy places with a unique charm or find the best places they were looking for is my way of helping to build a better world and do my bit to make our society a little better every day. With each publication I feel that I am helping many people and this helps me to improve as a person and to have a more open vision of the world around me.
For me the Local Guides program means my opportunity to help people discover my world and at the same time it gives me the Local knowledge of other people that without this program would be impossible to discover. Knowing the spirit of this program, I know that we are all doing our best so that the publications describe reality as faithfully as possible, which is why I am also obtaining a new vision of the places I want to go or want to know.
