What Does the Local Guide Program Mean to Me

Local guides is something that I started to do a few years ago. After becoming disabled I wasent able to go out and do as much as I was able to do before. I always had jobs that allowed me to interact with people on a daily basis, but after becoming disabled I stopped working and stopped going out. It wasent until almost a year after my accident that I started to go out and do stuff again. With the local guides it gave me a chance to go out and show not only where I have gone, but what I have enjoyed there. It have me the ability to connect with and talk to 1000’s of people and tell them where they should go of they like a certain thing or where they should go next to try something new. The local guides program gives me a reason to go to new places and try new things. If I with a broken back and chronic never pain am able to go out and experience new things, then anyone can go out to a new place, eat at a new restaurant, or go on a new trip too. I hope that my experience can encourage others with disabilities to go out and try new things too. Just because your disabled does not mean that you cant go out and explore and see the world. Only the mind can be a limitation for certain things, if your mind is strong enough you can overcome anything.
