What does the local guide program mean to me? The true essence?

Out of context now? The time is over now!

That was a prerequisite to create a post emphasizing the importance of the LG program to you.

I went through many many such posts, I found proclamations of help, joy, travel, sharing, caring, and so on.

Surprisingly, one need not be an LG to post photos or write reviews.
Anybody having a Google account can do so.

Moreover, there are many other platforms wherein one can share similar experiences and achieve the stated objectives.

Then, what’s the difference? Points, levels & Badges? These are notional & these too aren’t unique to this program.
Nevertheless, higher levels and number of badges do provide some sense of pride.

However, that doesn’t make any significant difference to the recipients or readers of the reviews.
Yes, we do get perks, occasionally, with many strings attached.
In short, that’s also can’t be a true motivator.

So finally, what motivates me continuing to participate?

The program prompted me to improve my writing skills. I gained an interest in how to better in mobile photography.
And then, thinking of solutions to the problems stated by other users became my quest.

But finally, the joy of getting likes to any review from strangers is unfathomable, and there I believe I have helped somebody unquestionably.
