What does the local Guide program mean to me : Discover new places and share the love

I have always been the kind of a person who loves traveling and discovering new places. It’s the thrill and excitement that comes with the process of researching for a new hangout spot, a new cafe, a new park and then finally seeing it with your own eyes.

I have always used Google maps for helping me with my endeavors for finding the ‘new’ things to do. It’s those helpful reviews and pictures that make everything so easy. You’re literally inside the place from the convenience of your living room. Isn’t it magical?

Now I think I observed this beauty of google maps about 2-3 years ago. Honestly, I was going through a bit of a rough patch and I remember I used to keep searching for places on google thinking I’ll push my friends in giving me company to try those new spots.

That’s how I came across some of my regular hangout spots in my city

Chai Story: I am a tea lover and when I discovered there’s a newly opened tea cafe opened close to my house, I had to give it a try. I took a couple of my friends and had countless cups of tea just talking and bonding.

I didn’t stop there; I loved this small cute cafe so much I actually introduced my entire circle of friends and got them here. Sometimes they used to hang out even while I wasn’t in the city

I also took my mom out on a date to the same cafe.

Unplugged Courtyard : I loved being outdoors , even when I am heading out of my house to have a meal , I prefer going to open spaces. And that’s how I came across this beautiful open roof cafe in the middle of Delhi. I was looking for rooftop cafes and Unplugged Courtyard’s name popped up in one of the lists. I got sold by the pictures and have been a regularhere since the. Again my friends love this place too :slightly_smiling_face:

I think it’s the joy of finding something beautiful and then sharing it with the world that has made all the difference in my Local Guides Journey. I kept adding my reviews and pictures of the places I loved and the fact that my experience helps someone else build a good experience for themselves is rewarding.

And honestly when I was starting my journey as a local guide, it gave me immense pleasure to see my points tally going up and reaching the next level earning new badges  It kept me motivated in some tough times.

That’s what the Local Guide program means to me – Discover and share. The world has endless beauty and I won’t stop until I see it all :yellow_heart:
