What does the local guide mean to me: Adventure, exploration and being a good Ambassador.

The local guide program gives me the opportunity to relate my experiences, express my point of view and communicate to others. The local guide program gives not only me, but others a chance to share in the experience. Being a local guide not only means I have a responsibility to myself but others. Writing a review and taking pictures is a great way to make people aware of great things they may have missed.

Being a guide is a great way to be an ambassador and share your community with others. On one particularly sunny day, I had a really nice experience while setting up for my shots. The Golden Gate National Cemetery is a place that you will miss if you’re not looking. You can see the mount and flag pole from either direction, heading north or south on the freeway. This place is a reminder that freedom is not free, that democracy is in a constant moving and living state. This place represents the sacrifice of those that put themselves in harms way so that we would not have to. The day I took the photos for my review, I had gotten gas and while paying for it ended up talking to the owner of the station. I talked to the owner to make sure it would be okay to park and take some photos. The owner was really nice, we chatted for some time before I pumped my gas. I parked over by the rail closest to the Cemetery to get a good angle. The sun was out and the sky was clear other than a few fluffy white clouds. I took the photos and reviewed them before I packed up my gear and drove away. I waved to the owner as I left, one of the best times doing a review. this is just one example of my experiences as a local guide.
