The Google local guide program has positively impacted my life ever since i discovered it. The ability to being able to contribute truthful content to the platform that is google maps, which I and millions of other people use to travel and move to different places is marvelous. Before knowing about the google local guides program I never knew how Google maps would have information on the most random places and after joining the program i then knew it was just ordinary people like me taking their time and contribute information.
Providing reviews to guide others on places they’re visiting has always left a satisfactory feeling in my heart e.g providing information on a bus stage infamously known for pickpockets and warning people to be very alert while there.
The local guide program has enabled me to hone my photography skills while taking photos of places. With each photo posted i see an improvement on the angles and light exposure. Updating information of places with edits and adding missing places has given me very many points as they’re important to people while translocating as helping people is one of my main priorities in life
I try my best to verify information by checking truthful facts e.g I confirm if places have wheelchair accessible entrances and stairs and by this i help a lot of people who move on wheelchairs making them know where it will be easy for them navigate through.
Sharing new information and new photos on Google maps will help many people in the future thus I’m hoping to help people living in the future to move around using google maps.
Google Local guides program has become more of a hobby to me as whether I’m free or even extremely busy ,when i pass a new place i always try to add new information about it on my phone
Lastly being the top local guide from my area had made me aware the sort of impact i have made in my local area and i can confidently say i have made an impact on my local business community with photos i posted,information i shared and questions i answered e.g A business and apartments near my home I posted their pictures(attached) and it later got many views by customers and would be tenants.
