Myself, Punyasloke have been volunteering for Google Maps as a Local Guide for the past few years and have reached a Level 7.
It was a dream to be connected with an iconic company like Google. After getting the opportunity it was doubly satisfying. Working as a guide gives me pleasure and personal satisfaction. As a guide I can help my fellow human beings may be all strangers to share important information about a place. I am able to answer their many questions and concerns. Putting myself into their shoes, I can understand their difficulties to get the know how of a place. Satisfying their curiosity from the comfort of their homes and offices through the use of gadgets by the help of modern technology is pure bliss. Google has devised such an unique method for the general public to gain information of an unknown place in such a hassle free way is all the more praiseworthy. And to be so attached with this program makes it more satisfying. To further illustrate one can upload photos of the place which aids further in pin pointing the location. To able to contribute in this way gives a very satisfying feel and it’s my deep desire to continue in helping the human kind in this way. As a gift for doing this yeomen service it remains a deep desire to be able to be present in a program like Connect Live 2020. Visiting the Bay Area of California has been an important destination in my bucket list and I wish to fulfil it this year in 2020. Thank you Google once again for giving me this opportunity. The Local Guide Program means a lot to me. Fulfilment of wishes and aspirations.
