I found myself as a map lover while I travelled the world during the past 20 years. When I discovered Google Maps I got hooked since the first moment, I was in love with “Google Earth” and this was like having it all on a personal device, wow, this is going fast, and I like it. Local Guides program for me is the best way to engage Google´s technology applied for maps and real impact on local human economies.

Some of the first maps I started using were the metro maps. My first subway transport system experience was in New York, Manhattan and then Montreal, Canada, December 1998. Those were also the first maps I started to understand. Then in 2000, I had the chance to live in London, those days I used to go everywhere with a small backpack carrying an umbrella, a raincoat and an “A-Z London streets map” book, among some other things.
I remember I used to spend hours in front of the computer surfing on “Google Earth”, I loved that program. So, when I discovered Google´s technology applied to maps, that day changed the way I see “maps”. I admire the way this company is leading at the internet world and I love that they are putting so much effort on the map’s area. Using “Google Maps” for me is a daily habit and I enjoy it and recommend it.
This time of my life I´m living in the Jalisco state of Mexico, I´m travelling around the country from time to time and also travelling all around the Natural Human Heritage Site of Tequila. Always using Google maps, checking how is the traffic, how long I am away from my destination and of course uploading photos and reviews.
Even nowadays the internet is available for, almost, every person on the planet, it doesn´t mean that all of us know how to get the best value using internet tools. Since I started using “Google+” and then “Google maps”, I found a way to help either other travellers or business with reviews, photos and tips shared. Remember amigos, “Sharing is caring”.
Maybe you can post some review from time to time, but for me to proudly be a “Google´s Local Guide” is a great chance, and responsibility, to share valuable information, saving time, bad experiences and helping business with the right costumers.
I admire how “Google Maps” has been evolving with the time, I wish I could be part of it for much time and way as possible. I wanted to thank for the chance to assist at the “Connect Live 2020” and for being such an amazing community. Just to imagine how many great people will be sharing the way how we impact the world with our lives and “Google Maps”, it gives me goosebumps.
