First of all let me tell you that I have been living all my life in Mexico City , a city that has between 20-24 million people as a population, so you can imagine leaving in a chaotic city. I have never been an orientated person, so to get around the city for me its easier to locate my self with the establishments that surround me or the place that I`m headed. Thanks to google street view it got easier for me, but sometimes when the establishment is not right in a street local it harder for me, but thanks to the Local Guides program that’s easier for me and for a lot of people, and in a city where if you go to the wrong address can cost up to 1.5 hours of your time, it is crucial that you know for sure where you are heading.
That is why I joined the program, because I wanted to be part of something that was helpful for me and for other people, so why no help people the same way they help you.
This doesn’t stop there, as I started traveling because of my work, the Local Guides program was a huge relief when I had to choose a hotel, pick a restaurant and also to visit the main attractions, all of this with extra information from locals that you don’t find online.
The local guide program means that you can help and connect with people that will help you when you need it and where you need it, it a way to make someone who is not familiar with its surroundings (that doesn’t mean he has to be a tourist) feel like he is in the right place, thanks to the experience of preview users.
