This is aqsa iqbal. I am a 4th-year medical undergraduate and level 6 local guide.I have a very strong emotional attachment with a local guides program. The past few days were the hardest days of my life. It was worst than a nightmare .My mother got paraplegia(partial paralysis) of both legs. As I am also a medical student, I tried to show her to the best doctors.
We visited many doctors but no one could reach to any final diagnosis. they got her many tests done like MRI and lumbar puncture which is a very painful procedure after that doctors finally diagnosed MS(multiple sclerosis). MS is a rare autoimmune and incurable disease. My mother went into depression because of all this. But now with the grace of ALLAH Almighty, she is much better. During all this tough period, google maps and local guides have been a great support for me. It helped me in finding the best hospitals, laboratories, and consultants. Before going to any laboratory I used to see the credibility of the test they do by seeing reviews and their ratings. Google’s local guide program is like a sincere friend to me. The confidence, will power and strength which I got after being a local guide proved very helpful during this worst time.
This whole incidence made me realize that the google local guides program is not just about fun, entertainment, and food, It is actually about saving people’s lives. Saving the life of one person is like saving humanity and the google local guides program is serving humanity indeed. It has converted me into the best version of myself.
I used to share stuff about food, restaurants and historical places. I also added two small local restaurants on google maps like ALI BHI SHAWARMA and MAKKAH FOOD POINT. But from now on I also make sure to give reviews and ratings to all those hospitals and laboratories which I visited and tell people about all the facilities present there and will continue this practice in the future. This is the point where my passion and profession meet.
I am very grateful to Google for introducing this incredibly helpful program. This has transformed my personality from a shy immature girl to a strong, confident and powerful lady.
