What does it mean to you to be a local guide ? My initial reaction was ‘helping others’. To me it means helping others make informed decisions on where to spend their money. And as a great side effect, it helps those businesses become more successful.
So maybe it is not about ‘helping’ but about ‘feeling’. The knowledge that a complete stranger will get to experience something that has brought you joy. The excitement you feel when you get to discover a great 5-star place on holiday (or even around your corner) and you wonder how you could have lived without. Seeing a local business thrive and knowing that maybe you helped them a little by writing a positive review. That is really what it is about for me. I will happily take a few moments to write a review knowing that I can reach others and have an impact (even a tiny bit) on other peoples lives.
If you want to share your experiences, feel free to write them in the comments
Keep in mind, when responding to others, make sure to tag them (by writing @ before their names) in a post, so they can receive notifications that you are communicating with them.
@Iftikharhussain Hi there, I always give a review based on my experiences. Making sure that people can make informed decisions on where to spend their money is my top priority, it is the reason why I started reviewing places. If I feel like they are not offering a good service or if the product/experience doesn’t have a good price-quality balance, it will get a negative review. But by adding your positive experience, it will most likely give a boost to that business. Equally, giving negative reviews will most likely impact that business as well. Because if I, personally, have to chose between a place with 0 reviews, 1 positive review or a 1 negative review, I will most likely chose the positively reviewed place. So if I really enjoy going somewhere, I will give them good review. It is supporting a business without spending extra money.

Hi @Deskata , just a quick question. I was supposed to receive a confirmation email for my application to the Google Local Guides events but didn’t get it. Can I contact someone for that ?
Sometimes there is a delay in the reception of the confirmation email, apologies for that.
The best way to confirm that you have applied already is to log into your correct account if it says “already applied” then you application was successfully submitted.
