Hi all! I’ve been a Guide for a few years but this is my first post on Connect. Due to the pandemic and businesses being closed, I took much greater interest in contributions to help local businesses and our community. With a lot of consistent hard work, I recently got to Level 7, and I’m still motivated to continue to do better. Whenever I saw Guides at Level 7, 8, 9 etc, I started going to their profiles to try and learn tips on how they are contributing.
Unfortunately, I was really disappointed to realize that a lot of Guides are gaming the system and gaining points by posting repeats of the same picture 8-9 times or posting tons of really personal family pictures.
what are you all’s thoughts about this? Has this been discussed? I think it’s not helpful for the community if we post 8 pictures of the same view or shot of a place — but Google might still give us 8x5 points.
I think it’s unethical and unfair but I’m curious to know other people’s thoughts.
I’m not going to start doing this even though I know it’ll probably take me years to get to the next level but I just find it demotivating to realize that others are gaming and abusing the system.
If anyone broke Google map T& C policies .Google ban their points and level they achieved already.

There are rules about posting photos, and to avoid the people to trick the game by adding irrelevant photos.
According to the Community policy "Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, or post images that infringe on copyrights, will also be removed".
Then, from Prohibited and Restricted Content “Your content should reflect your genuine experience at the location and should not be posted just to manipulate a place’s ratings. Don’t post fake content, don’t post the same content multiple times”
What to do if you encounter this kind of issues: You can report a single photo of review that appear to be not appropriate, but if you see a behavior like the one mentioned in your post, you can also report the profile of the Local guide.
