What could you gain from #localguidesreducingthepollution?

I have been inspired by @Julien44 , @DavidTito and @AdrianLunsong to share my Interest in this post.

It’s all about**#LG’sreducingthepollution**

This explains what means#reducingthepollution

Step 1 - Education as suggested by @ermest.

Teaching people, commuters and commercial drivers about the impacts of pollution due to transport sectors(Causing air pollution) in major cities. which creates poor Air Quality Index (Click here to check AQI) and results in respiratory problems.

Motivating drivers and riders to use public transport which in turn reduces Co2 exhausting out from private vehicles :oncoming_automobile: :truck:.

Educating them to switch off the engine when it’s idle or stopped under Traffic Signal.

STEP 2- Switching to alternative vehicles (CNG/Electric and other alternatives)

Motivating public and making yourself adapt to cycling :biking_man: which in turn helps to reduce air pollution and keeps your body active and fit.

As mentioned by @ermest in the #localguidescleantheworld project, education is a major issue. Through this, we can educate all about environmental issues and making them think about the alternative.
What could you gain from this?

Due to the increase in industraillzaiton, many of us are affected mentally and physically due to pollution. And if we do not take social responsibility, it will not get reduced any case. Spending a little amount of time towards society and nature as a citizen will reduce global warming in a larger impact. Let’s all take this as a responsibility rather than considering this a task to be done.

So I hope this post and previous post from my dear friend @Julien44 has shown you what you could gain for being active in environmental care and has motivated you to join the #localguidescleantheworld team.
Waiting to get feedback from you all,

1. What is your first role in reducing pollution?
2. Will planting more trees in polluted areas can reduce pollution?
3. Using air filters or any special devices can reduce pollution?
4. How to host a sucessfull meetup in creating awareness about reducing pollution?
5. Have you re-checked your vehicles after purchase at nearby Emission Testing Centres (ETC)?

@aravind_995

You raised one of my most important concern in the world.

As a automobile engineer I can understand how it is necessary to reduce the emission level of automobile.

@ErmesT

Thanks for removing it from spam box.

Thanks Brother!

Hi @aravind_995

You are bringing your stone to the building, every action counts. This is great.

Unfortunatly, I am not sure if I understood well your post.

Is it related to actions you have conducted in Chennai or you are planning to do ? Or maybe you are trying to motivate other Local Guides friends to do pollution reduction.

I would suggest you to read again carefully @AdrianLunsong 's post here as it is full of advices. Don’t miss the paragraph about being original.

You are in the right direction, keep reading, keep learning, keep improving and you are on the way to the top.

All together, we are making a better world.

Thanks and see you around

Hi @aravind_995 ! Thanks for writing this and taking part in the #ConnectWritingChallenge! Great start and here are some pointers to make your post better:

  • Be consistent with your text formatting. You wrote “Step 1” as normal text but then wrote “STEP 2” in bold.
  • Also, be consistent in your hashtag! In your title you used #localguidesreducingthepolution and later in your intro, you used #LG’sreducingthepollution. Try to stick to one that you can use over and over again in future posts.
  • Use numbered or bullet lists to keep things concise. For instance, you could easily put all your points in Step 1 in a bullet list. And try to do the same for Step 2. Remember keep it consistent!
  • As your Step 1 is about education, I would make Step 2 about making lifestyle changes and not just about changing your vehicle. So, lifestyle changes would include changing your vehicle to a hybrid (electric, LGP), take more public transport, do carpooling, don’t do open air burning etc. This would expand your Step 2 considerably.
  • Add captions to your photos. This is done when you’re uploading your photos to Connect as there’s an option to add captions.
  • As @Julien44 has mentioned, you may want to structure your posts slightly better so that it’s clear what your aims are and what the post is all about.
  • When you’re requesting feedback from readers as you did in your last paragraph, try not to ask too many questions. Maybe 1-3 would be best because it’s less daunting for readers.

I hope all those pointers will be useful! As I’ve mentioned elsewhere as well, always think about the importance of your post, will it make an impact and how. All the best and keep on writing!
