As often, I like to start a post with music. So don’t hesitate to put this sound in back ground.
Today, I am going to show you what you could gain from Local Guides program.
Interesting, isn’t it?
As we say a picture worth thousand words!
- The chance to start a wonderful journey:
As I have noticed, we all begin by contributing on Google Maps (and to be honest, I am quite proud of mine).
And at one point, we all receive a notification about local guides connect. Some people don’t pay attention but some others do.
Lucky me, I paid attention to it and decided to join the plateform.
As soon as I contributed, I was nicely welcome and people encouraged me. But as mentionned here, it wasn’t easy and I could have dropt. Lucky me, Klaudiya assisted me and gave me the desire to contribute more and more.
- The chance to meet friends from around the world:
When you arrive on Connect, you could be a bit lost but you shouldn’t worry. People are friendly and day after day they become your friends. After a while, you feel as if you know them for ages.
If you are a good contributor (My advice : always think quality and not quantity) and if you are lucky enough, you will able to meet some of them.
Have a look at the french connection and you will understand better what I mean by chance to meet friends.
- The chance to dream:
In this program, there is no matter where you are from, no matter who you are and no matter the way you live. It is the diversity by excellence.
In our community, “Little black boys and black girls are able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers” like mentionned in I have a dream.
And for me the most important thing is the reason why we join hands.
We all have the same goal: Help others !
- The chance to help:
In fact, we contribute as we want, when we want and every contributor is unique.
If you know me a bit, you know that I love adding places.
My satisfaction is to know that my contributions help many people and I am delighted when I receive emails saying that my added places have helped millions of people.
On top of helping others, we also help ourself as the program gives us the opportunity to grow.
There are many initiatives on connect. My favorite is Local Guides Clean the World and I am proud as it give me opportunites to do things to protect mother nature ?.
Often, my familly and I go hiking and each times we take plastic bags to clean the path. It is a good way to show the kids what they could gain from LGCTW and of course what is important in life. It has even saved me from a police fine! ?
- The chance to discover the world:
In Local Guides Connect, we discover lot of things such as unknown countries, unknown places, unknown activities and unknown food.
There is always something new to discover and my friends make me travelling with their contributions. I enjoy a lot discovering their world. By the way, thank you guys for your inputs !
In return, I share my world, my culture and the beauties of France.
- The chance of having fun :
The atmosphere is always fun on connect and at connect live.
As example, I will never forget the last day of CL19 when I arrived with the sign “free french kiss”. Many friends wanted a picture with me that day and we had so much fun with this word game.

I do my best to welcome newcomers, to share tips and off course my happiness. This is a huge satisfaction.
