What can I do after retirement?

What can I do after retirement?

Many people will ask same question before they prepare for retire. If you like travelling just like me, I found a great idea to be a Local guide.

As a Chinses who has lived in Australia for over 30 years, I always struggle with where to go or what to see when planning a holiday. The Google Maps give me a great help; I got a lot of Information, comments and pictures about selected destinations. Thereafter, I also posted my photos to Google Maps, until one day I received a notification informing me to be a Local guider. Currently I’m a Local Guide level 8.

As a Local Guide I’m retired now and have plenty time to travelling the world, go to the most interesting places I was dreamed of, and would like to share my views and feelings with people who have similar interests. At meantime, I’m proud to be a member of the community; we can provide our experiences, reviews and photos to helping people learn about the world.

I would like to share my experience with others who wants use Google Map. For example: In Google Map, it has plenty pictures for many popular scenic regions, cities or even shops. (These photos are provided by many Local Guides). To find the place you want to go, zoom in to find some small camera logos, and click it to see the pictures; you will get overview of this place. This was very useful for me to decide whether to go or not to go. Also, if you want to try some different foods, the Local Guides still can provide you with many options, click the Logo of knife & fork and you will find many restaurants with pictures and reviews.

Last year I went to China,Tibet. That is a magnificent place with an average altitude over 5000 meters. It has a lot of picturesque sceneries, but not enough information on Google Maps because not too many people have been there. I’ve added hundreds of pictures to locations on the map, and created some beautiful spots for other map users to let them know where worth to go.

I believe a lot of Map’s functions I still don’t know yet and I willing to meet other Local Guides for lean more.

I’m look forward to participate in Connect Live 2020 and expecting to meet new friends, also I would like to learn more Google Map’s features for contribute more.
