What being a local guide means to me

A network only works if the people in the network work within it. I am extremely grateful to the other members of the Local Guide community. Being a frequent traveler, I often find myself in new places. Before being a local guide I would end up conducting google search after google search attempting to find the right restaurant, cafe, hotel or shop. It was a difficult and frustrating experience, that would often result in disappointment. Then came Google map reviews from other Local Guides. It changed my life. Now I have a bankable, reliable and accurate “truth”. It doesn’t mater where I am in the world or what type of place I’m looking for I know with 1 search I will instantly find the right options. And all of this for FREE! WHAT ?! Too good to be true ? It happens because other people take action. I am an enthusiastic and committed guide and love helping other people find what they need. I love helping others find the right place or warn them of the wrong place (not that I have written too many bad reviews any more as I always find what I’m looking for). I also love to reward business owners with positive reviews about their business and recognize their team members. It gives me a chance to say thank you to the owner of the business and hopefully my positive review means they will get more customers. All in all being a Google Guide allows me to give back in so many ways. I love it

Ser reconhecido no mundo inteiro, muito feliz.

It is definitely a good way to expose and enjoy your local community wherever “local” might be at that time @JDoubleU .

Great to meet another Melbourne Local Guide. Keep an eye out for Meetups in Melbourne.
We’ve got a small but active Telegram group where we socialise our community. PM me if you’d like details of our Telegram group.
