What being a local guide means to me

If you were me, you would hear this a lot, “Yao, you care too much, there’s nothing you can do”. And if you were me, you’d ignore it every single time.

There are lots of things I care about in this world, fairness and justice are 2 big ones. I believe the good should to be rewarded and the bad should to be discouraged. For this reason, I leave feedback on all the places I’ve been that are exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. One comment might not be that big a deal. But 10 of them would be enough to make an impact on the business. Knowing this brings me a lot of reward.

For the same reason, fairness and justice, I turned vegan 10 years ago hoping to reduce animal cruelty and industrialised animal farming. Since then I’ve been visiting numerous vegan friendly restaurants and giving them the rating and feedback they deserve. I hope though my contribution, these businesses would attract more people who are open to plant-based meals or drinks. I also hope that my comments would make businesses realise that their plant-based options are appreciated.

Fairness and justice is my fight, and Google Maps is one of my weapons.

Dear @yaoxu ,

I really appreciate your points. I am not a vegan yet I love vegetarian restaurants. Hope your reviews will help all us to explore them.

Imran
