What being a Local Guide has meant for me! 2020

Hi there, my name is Hunter Maselli and I wanted to share with all of the Local Guides and the Local Guides community what the Local Guides program means to me.

I’d like to introduce who I am as well to the community as this is the first time I’m reaching out. I’m an American living in the beautiful island of Sardegna, Italy. I moved here with my wife of 7 years back in 2018. We have a daughter who is 16 months old.

The Local Guides program has been a whole new world of discovery to me. I discovered this gem of a program a few years ago when I was in Australia. Since joining, I have become much more familiar with Google Maps and have become much more aware of new places around me. I mainly use Google Maps to discover new places to eat. My philosophy in life is that food is the most important thing in the world. So having Google’s Local Guides program has really contributed in my life.

Wherever I go I’m inspired to share my experience with the world. Whether or not I get direct feedback and response from my posts and photos is irrelevant to me. I’m happy knowing that I’m able to make an initial impact on a person’s choice when they look up reviews and photos on Google Maps. This is one of the first things I look for when discovering new places to eat! :pizza:

The Local Guides program has given me an opportunity to join a new community of people who travel, who taste, who share their experiences and this is right along with my purpose in life. I want to help others make informed decisions as to where they go and where to have the best experience. Local Guides has helped me achieve that in more ways than one.

I really appreciate being a part of the Local Guides program and I definitely look forward to sharing more incredible experiences in the future!
