This is my second year of being a Google Local Guide and it becomes more and more meaningful to me as time passes. When I first started, I did it because I was bored or had nothing better to do. When I would see a notification from Google asking me to post a picture or asking a specific question about a place I was at, I responded. Over time, I got notifications telling me how many people were helped by my posts. As the number got into the thousands, I felt inspired. I saw all the people I was helping, all the people who through a small act of boredom, had life a little easier thanks to me. I have always said I wanted to change the world, making it better than the way I found it. Well, I think this is my way of finally finding a way to be that positive change. Even if it is small, if we all do our part to help rather than hurt, to be kind rather than ignore, to create positivity out of a negative situation, the world would all change for the better. According to Ghandi, I can finally “be the change I want to see in this world.”
